Jane Hammond Events recognizes the need to be a part of the Green Economy. Events can be wasteful of both food and resources. We strive to minimize our impact ecologically by implementing the following responsible business practices:

RECYCLING
- Jane Hammond Events recycles everything possible both in our offices, kitchen, and on site at events.

COMPOSTING
- We compost all food scraps at our kitchen and all our events. We use only compostable disposable products such as cups, silverware, plates, and napkins.

GARBAGE REDUCTION
- Due to the all the recycling and composting, our events now create very little landfill garbage. One small bag of garbage is our average for even our largest events.

SEASONAL ORGANIC PRODUCE
Our menus highlight each season’s crops so that we can buy locally grown produce. We buy organically as often as possible, but recognize that sometimes a local sustainable product is the best choice rather than industrial organic.

SUSTAINABLE AND NATURAL POULTRY, SEAFOOD, AND MEATS
We avoid factory farmed meat and strive to serve meats, poultry, and fish that are sustainably and humanely raised.

CARPOOLS
Our staff carpools regularly, cutting down on our car use. Each of the event planners works from home in order to avoid daily commutes.

FAIR TRADE
Our coffee and tea are sourced from fair trade roasters who support small farmers using sustainable agricultural practices. We are proud to be working with Equal Exchange which specializes in small scale farmer empowerment, environmental sustainability, workplace democracy and high quality organic coffee, tea, and chocolate.
